Who We Serve
Support for every person touched by the ICU
Whether you survived the ICU, love someone who did, or care for those who have — you are not alone. The PICS Coalition is here for you.
For ICU Survivors
You made it out. Now let's figure out what comes next.
Surviving the ICU is a brutal battle — and for 50–80% of survivors, the fight doesn't end at discharge. If you're experiencing weakness, exhaustion, memory problems, anxiety, or any of the other effects of PICS, know this: what you're going through has a name, it's real, and you are not alone. The PICS Coalition connects survivors with information, peer support, and resources to help you understand and navigate your recovery.
How we support survivors
"I didn't know what was wrong with me for months. Finding out it was PICS — that it had a name — changed everything."
"Everyone asked how my husband was doing. Nobody asked how I was doing. PICS-F is real — and finally having a name for it helped me get help."
For Families & Caregivers
Caring for a survivor is its own journey.
When someone you love survives the ICU, the relief can quickly give way to confusion, exhaustion, and grief. Approximately 20% of family members and caregivers of ICU survivors develop PICS-F — their own form of trauma, anxiety, and depression. You may be managing a loved one's recovery while struggling with your own. The PICS Coalition sees you, and we're here to help.

For Clinicians & Researchers
Advancing PICS awareness and post-ICU care.
Healthcare professionals are on the front lines of identifying and treating PICS — but awareness, screening tools, and follow-up protocols remain inconsistent. The PICS Coalition partners with clinicians, researchers, and healthcare organizations to advance education, share evidence-based resources, and improve the standard of post-ICU care for every patient.
How we support clinicians
"Most of my patients had no idea what PICS was when they left the ICU. Better education — for clinicians and patients alike — is the first step."
